General Questions
What is a hair transplant?
A hair transplant is a surgical procedure that moves hair follicles from a donor area (usually the back and sides of the head) to balding or thinning areas. The transplanted hair grows naturally and permanently in its new location.
Am I a good candidate for hair transplant?
Most people with sufficient donor hair are good candidates. Ideal candidates are: over 25 years old, have stable hair loss pattern, good general health, realistic expectations, and adequate donor hair density. During consultation, we assess your specific situation.
How long does the procedure take?
FUE procedures typically take 6-8 hours, while DHI may take 8-10 hours depending on the number of grafts. The procedure is done in one day with breaks for meals and rest.
Is hair transplant painful?
No. Local anesthesia ensures a pain-free procedure. We use advanced painless injection techniques. Post-operative discomfort is minimal and easily managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.
What's the difference between FUE and DHI?
FUE extracts individual follicles and implants them in two steps (channel creation, then implantation). DHI uses Choi implanter pens to extract and implant simultaneously, offering higher precision and density. Learn more about FUE or Learn more about DHI.
How many grafts will I need?
This depends on your level of hair loss and desired density. Typical ranges: Hairline restoration (1,500-2,500 grafts), Moderate hair loss (2,500-3,500 grafts), Advanced hair loss (3,500-5,000 grafts), Extensive hair loss (5,000+ grafts). We provide personalized assessment during consultation.
Results & Expectations
When will I see results?
Timeline: Weeks 2-3 (shock shedding - normal), Months 3-4 (new growth begins), Months 6-8 (significant visible improvement), Months 12-18 (final results - full thickness and density).
Will the results look natural?
Yes! When performed by experienced surgeons, results are completely natural-looking. Key factors: artistic hairline design, proper angle and direction of implantation, appropriate graft distribution, natural density gradients.
Is hair transplant permanent?
Yes. Transplanted hair is genetically resistant to balding (taken from permanent zone) and will grow for a lifetime. However, existing non-transplanted hair may continue thinning with age.
What's the success rate?
With proper technique and aftercare, graft survival rates are 90-98%. Our experienced team consistently achieves high success rates. Final results depend on: surgeon expertise, technique used, post-operative care compliance, individual healing factors.
Can I have multiple procedures?
Yes. Many patients have 2-3 procedures over their lifetime to maintain density as natural hair continues aging. FUE allows unlimited future procedures without complications from previous treatments.
Recovery & Aftercare
How long is recovery?
Most patients return to desk work within 3-5 days. Physical exercise can resume after 2 weeks. Full recovery (scabs gone, redness faded) takes 2-3 weeks. Hair growth cycle means visible results take months.
Can I wear a hat after surgery?
Avoid hats for the first 7-10 days to prevent friction on grafts. After this period, you can wear loose-fitting hats. Tight hats should be avoided for one month.
When can I exercise?
Light walking: immediately, Light exercise: after 7 days, Moderate exercise: after 2 weeks, Heavy lifting/intense cardio: after 4 weeks, Swimming: after 4 weeks, Contact sports: after 6 weeks.
When can I wash my hair?
First wash is typically done at the clinic on day 3-5. After this, you can wash daily using special technique and provided shampoo. We teach you the proper washing method to protect grafts.
Will I need time off work?
Plan 3-7 days off depending on your job type. Desk jobs: 3-5 days, Physical jobs: 7-10 days, Jobs with public interaction: Consider timing (visible redness fades in 2 weeks).
What about alcohol and smoking?
Avoid alcohol for 1 week before and 2 weeks after surgery. Stop smoking 2 weeks before and 4 weeks after (smoking significantly reduces graft survival rates). These restrictions are crucial for optimal results.

Technical Questions
Will donor area look thin after extraction?
No. Experienced surgeons extract strategically to maintain donor area appearance. Hair is taken from a wide area rather than one spot. With proper technique, donor area looks completely natural even with short haircuts.
Can body hair be used?
Sometimes. Body hair (beard, chest) can supplement scalp donor hair in cases of: Limited scalp donor supply, Very extensive hair loss, Repair procedures. However, body hair has different characteristics and growth cycles, so scalp hair is always preferred.
What about density?
Natural scalp density is 80-120 follicular units per cm². Hair transplant typically achieves 40-60 units per cm² (50-75% of natural). This looks full and natural. DHI technique can achieve higher density than traditional FUE.
Do transplanted hairs need special care?
After initial healing (3-4 weeks), transplanted hair behaves exactly like your natural hair. You can: Cut, color, style normally, Use any hair products, Undergo chemical treatments. No special maintenance required.
Can women get hair transplant?
Absolutely! Many women suffer from: Female pattern hair loss, Thinning hair, Traction alopecia (from tight hairstyles), Hairline restoration. DHI technique is particularly suitable for women as it often doesn't require full shaving.
