Hair Transplant Aftercare Guide

Proper aftercare is crucial for optimal results. Follow these guidelines to ensure maximum graft survival and the best possible outcome.

First 48 Hours - Critical Period

✅ DO:

• Sleep with head elevated at 45° angle
• Apply ice packs to forehead (not transplant area)
• Take prescribed medications on schedule
• Rest and avoid physical activity
• Keep transplant area dry
• Eat soft, nutritious foods

❌ DON'T:

• Touch or rub the transplanted area
• Bend over or lift heavy objects
• Smoke or drink alcohol
• Expose area to direct sunlight
• Wear tight hats or clothing
• Take aspirin or blood thinners

Days 3-14 - Healing Phase

Washing Instructions

First wash (Day 3): Done at clinic or follow our instructions. Use lukewarm water and special shampoo. Pat gently - never rub.

Daily washing (Days 4-14): Wash once daily. Apply lotion 30 minutes before. Gently pour water over head. Apply shampoo with soft touches. Rinse thoroughly. Pat dry with soft towel.

General Care

• Scabs will form and naturally fall off by day 14
• Don't pick or scratch scabs
• Continue medications as prescribed
• Avoid swimming pools and sea
• Light walking is okay
• Return to desk work possible after day 5

Weeks 3-8 - Shock Shedding

This is completely normal! Transplanted hairs will shed while roots remain secure and enter growth phase.

• Don't panic when hair falls out
• Roots are intact and establishing
• Resume normal washing
• Can resume most activities
• Still avoid direct sun exposure
• Exercise okay after week 4

Long-Term Care (3+ Months)

• Hair begins regrowing at month 3
• Be patient - growth is gradual
• Treat hair normally - cut, style, color
• Use sun protection for first year
• Maintain healthy lifestyle
• Send us progress photos monthly
